Who is Eligible to Receive Free Kids Dental Care?
Under the Federal Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, parents and caregivers may be able to claim free dental care for their kids. The Schedule has been designed to cover the costs of basic kids dental services, either partly or in full depending on a few factors.
In order to be eligible for free kids dental care under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (or ‘CDBS’), your children (aged between 0-17 years) must be enrolled in Medicare, and they or your household must be receiving an eligible payment through Services Australia within that same calendar year. Eligible payments include Family Tax Benefits or any other relevant payment made by the Australian Government.
There is also no need to apply to the CDBS in order to receive benefits, as Services Australia will send a letter outlining benefits to the parents, caregivers, or care organisations that are responsible for all eligible children. If you have received a letter from the CDBS or are seeking free dental care for your kids, the team at Dentaservice will be happy to offer their support in securing all the care that you and your family require.

When Should My Child See A Family Dentist?
The Victorian Department of Health recommends that all children should receive their first mouth check-up by the age of 2. From there, your kids’ appointments should ideally be scheduled for every 6-12 months or more frequently, if required by your children’s dentist.
